由於網際網路的普及與快速的發展,網路安全相關的議題是眾所矚目的焦點。而網路安全相關的應用必須仰賴網路設備具有高速網路流量的量測與分析能力。網路設備不但要轉送封包,更需要即時處理並且分析巨量、川流不息的流量資料,然而這些額外的處理工作,已經超出原有網路系統設備所能負荷之處理能量。川流資料處理(Data Stream Processing)之速寫演算法(Sketch Algorithm)可以在有限的計算資源之下,提供快速摘要、處理巨量資料的能力,在近年來廣泛的被使用於高速網路流量處理應用之中。我們深入探討速寫演算法於高速網路流量分析與量測之應用,並使用可程式化邏輯閘陣列(FPGA)晶片,實現速寫演算法核心之硬體架構,來加速高速網路流量分析系統之效能,同時也對晶片上有限的儲存空間及系統效能,針對網路流量分析與變異偵測之應用作探討與研究,達到高速網路流量分析與網路安全應用之目標。
Traffic analysis and measurement are essential for effective IP network management, supporting infrastructure planning, capacity forecasting, anomaly detection, and defense against large-scale cyberattacks. With network speeds advancing to 800 Gbps and beyond, scaling monitoring and measurement capabilities to maintain accuracy and efficiency has become a critical challenge. At the Computer Networking and Systems Research Laboratory (CNSRL), students are actively engaged in projects sponsored by government agencies and industry partners in Taiwan. Their work focuses on high-speed traffic measurement, software-defined networking, and network security applications, particularly in the context of Smart Grid systems. To address these challenges, the lab is exploring advanced stream-based algorithms, FPGA acceleration, machine learning methods, and heterogeneous computing platforms, with the goal of delivering next-generation solutions that significantly enhance system performance and scalability.
